Ohmigosh, they had access to the children. . . !

Yes, Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori was here in San Diego this past weekend. Sunday she was at St. James in La Jolla, where, according to EpiscopalLife Online (the opening paragraph so someone considered this uber important, or maybe just cute since it's about children),

"I met Bishop Katharine, and I'm ready to change the world." This message was printed on miniature globes that children received from their rector as they huddled around Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori on the final morning of her three-day visit to San Diego.

Just think about that for a minute. . . they printed a message on miniature globes that the rector then gave the children, who then "huddled" around the presiding bishop. And on these globes, was there a message of Christ's love for us? His sacrifice for us? A reminder of the Holy Spirit's presence with us?

Noooooo. . . instead, "I met Bishop Katharine, and I'm ready to change the world."
